Jim Diest

Jim Diest was a friend to many a racer and saved many lives during his life as a safety icon. He was a friend and mentor to me personally during development of many of our prototype products over the years. With his passing, his knowledge, wisdom and advice will sorely be missed. Our sincerest condolences to the family on the loss of Shane Hammond at Thompson Speedway in a NEMA racing accident.

Any racing accident is a tragedy for the family and friends. Once again, we are reminded of the evil side of this great sport and we need to ask ourselves; are we doing everything we can to make this sport safe?


2008 Speedway Expo Safety Forum

We'll be participating in the "Innovations in Safety" forum and roundtable discussion at the 2008 Speedway Expo at the Big "E" in Springfield MA on March 2, 2008 with folks from Hats Off! and Fast Track Medical Response Systems.

It should be an interesting time with hands on demonstrations and plenty of chatter about driver, crew and track safety in general. Plan to attend if you're in the area.
